Introduction to Playa del Cura
Playa del Curais is a smaller-style resort attracting visitors who want a more peaceful kind of beach holiday. The bars, cafes and eating-places are excellent venues to feast on typical local cuisine, and there's also a cluster of small shops. Otherwise, the best place to be is on the sands, basking in the sun and swimming in the sea. The resort has been classed as a marine reserve and is home to one of the best scuba and snorkelling schools on the island. Playa del Cura is also a fine base for venturing further afield. The picturesque town of Puerto Mogan is based around a yacht-filled marina which overflows with restaurants, many of which serve local freshly caught fish and specialities. Sheltered by towering cliffs, the town boasts a gently shelving small beach where white sands tumble into the sea.
