Resort Puerto Naos - hotel in La Palma

Puerto Naos is worlds away from what you'd expect from a typical Canarian resort. If you're after a laid-back, hidden but well-formed Spanish resort, this beachside village is a gem. This sweet little village holds a special place in La Palma and enjoys an awe-inspiring setting amid a jagged, dramatic backdrop of breathtaking volcanic mountains. It's the beach that gets the most attention though: a wide 500-metre swathe of black volcanic sand. Lapped by the swishing Atlantic sapphire seas and sprinkled with gently swaying palm, it's fantastic for relaxing under the Spanish blue skies. It's also the sunniest point on the island, so perfect for swimming and sunbathing.

The village's laid-back bustle of just a few residential streets and a shopping boulevard makes it perfect for ambling and sitting in the sun outside friendly tapas bars, whilst a cluster of restaurants serving delicious local dishes provide everything you need for quiet lunches and laid-back evenings. After dark the laid-back vide continues. Night-life centres around the hotels and in the restaurants - but what better way to spend a long lazy evening than lingering over a delicious meal followed by a relaxing drink or two.

Make sure you experience the wildly beautiful surrounding region too, Puerto Naos is a great base for exploring the island. The village is a short ten-minute drive away from La Caldera de Taburiente National Park, home to a ten kilometre long volcanic rock wall and the highest point on the island, as well as Pueblo Parque, a pretty botanical garden with over 6,000 species of tropical plants. On the activity front, La Palma is ever-present too with exciting things to do, such as for mountain biking, horse riding and hiking in the countryside surrounding Puerto Naos.
