Resort La Caleta - hotel in Tenerife
Introduction to La Caleta
If you're looking for a seaside base with a laid-back Canarian feel, Las Caleta is ideal. This small coastal village has got all the ingredients for an easygoing holiday - a charming setting, an infectiously unhurried mood and easy access to the beach resort of Costa Adeje.
In the centre and along the harbour and seafront, you'll find a handful of souvenir shops, as well as a few low-key tapas bars and fine restaurants specialising in traditional Canarian cuisine and seafood. When you're in beach mode, the sand/pebble beach here is relatively small, so head the short distance along the coast and you'll find the sands of Bahia del Duque and it's bars, shops and restaurants in one direction and the classic golden sands of Playa de la Enramada in the other. When you fancy picking up the pace, after an hour, or two of sunbathing, the bright seas all along this stretch of coastline are ideal for paddling, swimming and watersports.
Day trips are plentiful too, with the pretty, charming inland villages and the spectacular volcanic peaks of Teide National Park all easily accessible. And if that's not enough, for more adventure, hit the fairways of Costa Adeje golf course - a popular and challenging course, just a short distance away.
Journey Times: Airports, Tenerife - 30 - 45 minutes approx.
