When you feel like doing something a little different, check-out the Wednesday farmer's market at Playa San Juan which sells a wealth of local produce, and the Monday market at Alcala is the place to go for African crafts. As the sun goes down, for a fairly small resort, Playa de la Arena boasts an vast array of bars and restaurants, ranging from the big and bold to a handful of small and intimate venues. Nearby in the resort of Los Gigantes, just one mile north of Playa de la Arena you can hop on a boat trip to spot whales and dolphins. If you don't spot a whale, the sight of the Los Gigantes cliffs are just as impressive.
