Introduction to Troulos
Fringing an impressive bay in southern Skiathos, laid-back Troulos offers a choice of excellent beaches backed by shady pines and farmland. Whilst the resort offers hospitable tavernas, bars and shops, the hub of activity here is its main beach, where silvery sands merge with luminous, sheltered waters great for children. There's a beach taverna and selection of watersports and you can reach other local coves by foot or hired boat. Alternatively, catch a scenic coastal cruise, head for Skiathos Town for sightseeing or shopping or dive into the countryside to see the abandoned medieval village of Kastro or explore the idyllic Kalamaki peninsula. Later, some music bars and a disco light up the night, although it's tempting to keep things mellow by enjoying a sunset cruise from the bay before dining at a relaxing taverna.
