Introduction to Benalmadena
This modern resort grew out of a sleepy inland village, but is now buzzing with activity and attractions. The daytime fun focuses on the new Moorish-style port area which features several small beaches. All around, you'll find a good variety of restaurants, shops and cocktail bars where you can tuck into some tasty tapas or enjoy a long, lazy supper before enjoying the town's lively nightspots, bars and casino. For sport enthusiasts, there are plenty of facilities, including a scuba-diving centre with beginner's courses. You might also want to take the children to Benalmadena's exciting Tivoli Park, where you'll find funfair rides, amusements and restaurants open til late at night. In mid summer, you'll get the chance to join in the festivities of the resort's annual romeria.
