La Palma's breathtaking sights include that of La Caldera de Taburiente, a national park containing an enormous expanse of a large crater, dominating the Northern part of the island; and places to visit such as the Astronomical Observatory, which offers equally as stunning views, being in a location that is considered to be the world's second best sight for astronomy. The magnificent volcanoes are also not to be missed, and you can even go on a 7-hour excursion by foot to investigate these wonders.

However, if you are more of a sun-worshipper than a keen walker, there are still plenty of sandy strips of volcanic beach for you to spread out on, or if you prefer, lots of intimate, cosy coves
