Introduction to Alcudia Area
The Alcudia Area is hard to beat for beach holidays. This sought-after northern Majorcan resort is a real favourite thanks to its incredibly long sandy beach and shimmering waters backed by fantastic mountain views.
An excellent combination of sandy beach, ancient history and exciting entertainments, the area of Alcudia is a true holiday favourite and dream venue for beach worshippers, however it's also packed with culture.
With its child-friendly, gently shelving sands, the beach is heaven for watersports fans with pedalos, banana rides and windsurfing to get you out on the waves. Behind here, the town offers up even more temptations - from a delightful old walled town housing a labyrinth of café- and restaurant-filled streets to a go-kart track, bustling street shops, a nearby waterpark and innumerable international restaurants around the seafront and harbourside. By night, the tempo in the resort quickens somewhat, with countless music bars, discos and clubs providing a good choice of entertainment staying open till late.
There's some excellent sightseeing too. Make sure you visit Alcudia's haunting Roman ruins outside of town, head to the atmospheric and modern beach resort of More Vermey nearby or catch one of the many enjoyable boat trips from the harbour. Alternatively, explore Majorca's beautiful interior by car or on foot, visiting enchanting villages like Pollensa or Valldemosa.
