Introduction to Cala'n Porter

Most of the holiday accommodation and amenities of this lively resort sit proudly on the high cliffs overlooking the stunning bay and golden beach. How do you get down to the clear water's edge? The most direct route is via a set of 192 steps, but for those who can't face that, there's a mini train that makes life a lot easier. Once there, the beach is one of the best. It's large and protected on three sides by the cliffs so it becomes a real suntrap during the summer. Should your kids get bored with the beach, there's a real novelty behind them. Here is a small area of marshland which is home to a large family of ducks that fascinates nearly every small child as they try and feed them. Another great advantage of Cala'n Porter is the view you get of the spiritual centre and highest point of the island, Mount Toro, which is clearly visible on most days, along with the 17th Century Sanctuary of the Mare de Déu del Toro. Back down to earth, the resort has a good selection of shops and supermarkets that cater for your everyday holiday essentials. As with most resorts on the island, evening entertainment takes place in hotels, however, during the summer months at least, Cala'n Porter does have a small number of buzzy bars, and Cova d'en Xoroi, the best club on the island.

Villa C'an Marques

Sitting in extensive gardens, the spacious Villa C'an Marqués has a really substantial feel to it. On top of that, it enjoys a quiet but handy location in Cala'n Porter - just a five-minute walk from shops and restaurants and another five or so further on to the beach.
