Introduction to Gocek
Situated in a valley surrounded by hills laden with pine trees, lies Göcek. This once small farming village has morphed into one of Turkey's top yachting destinations. The area enjoys a perfect climate for farming and the pretty promenades are lined with lemon, orange and flowering fruit trees. Göcek's wonderful selection of traditional tavernas and international restaurants can be found dotted in the pretty streets that lead to the resort's four marinas which are all awash with boats, dinghies and expensive yachts. Grab a seat at a pavement café, order a chilled drink and you're in for some blissful days people-watching! There's no public beach in Göcek, however hop on board a water taxi or boat trip to the nearby islands and coves.
